H.L. Boling, is a Certified Mine Safety Professional, (C.M.S.P.) and is the 4th person in the world to achieve this certification through the International Society of Mine Safety Professionals (ISMSP). He is also a founding father of the ISMSP that presently has more than 1,600 members.  H.L. has 46 years of experience in safety and health leadership, has worked with hundreds of companies and organizations national and international, building and developing positive, safe, and productive work environments. 

In 1996, the ISMSP honored H.L. by naming a Safety and Health Award for him; “The H.L. Boling Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award” (National and International Award). This award recognizes H.L.’s outstanding contributions to the world’s safety, health and leadership process.

In 2007, the South Central Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) District established an award in H. L.’s honor, the H. L. Boling Safe Production Award.  H. L. was recognized at their annual conference for his mentoring of mining professionals, belief that ZERO is a real number, and the outstanding contributions he has made to mining during his 46 years of service.
